Solon's permanent Safety Town is now open!  A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Saturday, June 22, after which local children were able to enjoy the facility (with all signs and signals operating).  Even when the signals aren't on, the Safety Town will be available for safe play in the Community Park.

The project was undertaken by the City of Solon and the Solon Recreation Department, with additional funding from the Kiwanis Club of Solon and the Rotary Club of Solon. Particular thanks go to Mayor Susan Drucker and D.A.R.E. Officer Joanne Felton, to Don Holub and Russ Schneider from the Recreation Department, to Tim Siebert and Kevin Amick from the Service Department and Ryan Maver from the Engineering Department who helped with construction and the signals, to Path Master, Inc., the vendor of the traffic signals.

More photos from the grand opening are available on the club's Facebook page.
